Vehicle Description 1959 Mercedes Benz 220S Project Vin:
1800109500897 Mileage:
63842 History:
1959 220S Project Car, Same owner for 50
years, owner embarked on a full restoration in the 80s and never got it back together.
Very solid with great metal.
Clear Oregon title.
Engine & Transmission:
Original engine and transmission.
The car has sat for 30
years so it has not turned over in quite some time.
I did not attempt to get the engine to turn over, it will need to be opened up, inspected and overhauled or used fro parts.
Body:
Sheet metal is the real find here.
Solid metal throughout the car, not rusty.
The owner dismantled it and had a repaint in the original color.
The Paint is acceptable but the fact that it was stored in a heated basement has preserved this car as a good candidate for a parts car.
All sheet metal is straight with no waviness or rust.
Comes with many parts (see detailed photos) very solid (see video).
I did not find all the glass.
Interior:
The interior has all the seats and parts needed for restoration except one inside door panel.
Headliner is gone, but reveals the great roof metal.
Doors are all solid and trunk area is solid.
Window wood is all there and chrome trim for windows.
Summary:
This is a solid 1959 Mercedes Benz 220S parts car.
If you are putting one together this would be a great car for its metal.
The car comes with books and records.
Pretty complete.
I've restored several cars and loose parts even when I'm careful, there is obviously some missing parts or ones that will need to be restores before reuse (see detailed photos).
Great parts car located in Portland OR.
